Getting started

What is Fresh Mealthy 2.0?

It's the re-launch of our meal delivery service featuring:

  • Fresh Chef-Made Meals
  • Weekly Delivery
  • Sustainable Meal Plans optimized to reduce wasteage of food, transportation and packaging.

What are the benefits of Mealthy?

While exercising is important, the food intake every day is no less important than the exercises you do to create a healthy lifestyle.

People in Hong Kong, however, are busy with their work every day and night and do not have time to prepare the RIGHT and GOOD food.

We believe that the best source of necessary nutrition is natural quality food and, we all deserve decent meals to treat our body and souls.

Mealthy provides results-oriented meal prep for Professionals.

We believe that a meal plan with precise nutrition intake is the key to reach your goals.

When can I get my first order?

We deliver the meals once a week:

Hong Kong Island and Kowloon:

Saturday Morning (6-8 am (Recommended)
Monday Morning (6-8 am)

New Territories:

Saturday (Kerry Cool) Cold Chain (Recommended)
Sunday (Kerry Cool) Cold Chain
Monday (Kerry Cool) Cold Chain

Please note that delivery is not available to all areas in NT and Outlying Islands.

Our weekly order cut-off is Wednesday at 6 pm.

If you missed the order-cut off your order will arrive the following week.

When is the weekly cut-off date?

Our weekly cut-off date is Wednesday at 6pm HKT.

We will pick meals for you automatically based on your goals and preferences.

If you want to choose your own meals or make changes to next weeks meal delivery this needs to be done before the cut-off.

After the order cut-off our chefs will order fresh ingredients and plan the making of your meals. We will also book and make the delivery arrangements.

Please note that while you may cancel, skip or pause your plan at anytime, orders after the weekly cut-off day can not be changed.

Are the meals fresh or frozen?

The meals are all delivered fresh.

Hong Kong Island and Kowloon

Your weekly meals will be delivered early in the morning in thermally insulated bags with a cooling ice pack inside. Just open your door and put the meals into your fridge when you wake up in the morning. Please note that the driver will not call or knock on the door for early Morning Delivery.

New Territories

Your meals will be delievered in a cool van by Kerry Cool. The driver will call you before delivery to confirm the delivery time.

Storage

Our air-tight sealed meals will last for 3-7 days in your fridge and each meal has a best before date printed on it.

How many portions are there in 1 meal?

Our meals are designed for one person to be satisfied.

Each meal varies in nutrition, calories and how filling it is based on the amount of fiber and fat.

You can find the nutritional information of each meal in the weekly menu section.

We believe the majority of the calories should be fulfilled by our meals so they will be large enough that most people will not need to supplement with a lot of additional foods and snacks.

Can I cancel my subscription at anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time. If you need to cancel your order, login to your account to cancel the meal plan.

While you can cancel at any time, cancelling your subscription does not cancel existing orders.

If you cancel your subscription before the weekly cutoff time on Wednesday at 6pm, no automated order will be placed for delivery the following week.

If you cancel the subcription meal plan after the weekly cutoff time on Wednesday at 6 pm, the following week you will receive an order and after that the subscription will be cancelled and you will not have any further charges from Mealthy.

How much does Mealthy cost?

We offer different sized meal plans (4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 18) delivered to you each week. Meals start from HK$89. Check out our meal plan page for pricing.

Minimal Waste

Sustainable Meal Delivery

How much packaging waste is generated from the meal plans?

Our meal trays are made from 100% recyclable PP and weigh 23 grams each, which is the same weight as a 700ml water bottle.

The food value to weight of packaging of our meals exceeds most other foods you are able to purchase in retail.

The amount of packaging waste generated from our kitchen is significantly less than cooking at home as we receive wholesale deliveries of ingredients in bulk.

Are you zero waste food?

We are close to but not at zero waste of food. Since all our meals are planned and cooked to order we have close to 0% wasteage rate of ingredients.

However we still have food waste from mainly vegetable trimmings and from ingredients that are diposed due to not passing quality control.

We are actively working on reducing our amount of vegetable trimmings by adjusting our recipes or transforming these ingredients to delicious foods, stocks or sauces.

Can I return the thermal delivery bags?

You may keep the thermal delivery bags for grocery shopping, picnincs or trips to the beach or share with a friend. However if they start to stack up after a few weeks please do consider returning them.

To return simply place them outside your door in the evening before your delivery and our delivery drivers will pick it up for return and re-use.

*We recommend returning the bags on a monthly basis as it simplifies the return process to handle more bags together.

Return of bags is only available for morning slot deliveries.

How sustainable is your delivery service?

Our standard delivery service meals are shipped out in the early hours of morning each week.

A team of delivery drivers arrive to our kitchen and split up the deliveries all across Hong Kong.

Early mornings are efficient because they are almost free from traffic and congestion, letting a single driver handle more deliveries on his route than he could handle during the daytime or evening rush hours.

Compared to food delivery or other meal plans that are delivering 1-2 meals direct from a restaurant to homes our meal service is significantly more sustainable.

Since we deliver our meals on a weekly basis our drivers are delivering 100+ meals at a time instead of single meals.

Why don't you use paper packaging?

We set extremely high demands on our packaging solutions and would like to use paper packaging. Unfortunately, current paper packaging solutions do not meet our standards.

Our packaging primarily has to contain the food and keep flavours fresh and be sealed air-tight.

It should also be able to conveniently be stored and later safely re-heated by our busy customers.

The packaging must not impart any flavours into the food, be enjoyable for our customers to use and eat from.

Finally the packaging should be as light-weight as possible to minimize the amount of waste.

What goes into the meals

Meals, Nutrition & Ingredients

How do you measure the nutrition?

The nutrient information is referring to Nutrient Information Inquiry System (NIIS) at Centre for Food Safety by specified cooking and storage methods.

The nutrition details for each meal can be seen in the weekly menu before you order. Please note there may be some variation of the nutrition based on variations in ingredients and tray filling.

How big are your servings?

We believe you should not need to add a lot of additional foods in addition to our meals.

Each meal tray has 3 compartments to provide you with fresh and varied foods that will provide energy to keep you powered for active lifestyles.

How long can the meals last?

The meals packed in air-tight trays have a refrigerated shelf life of 3-6 days. Each meal has a best before date printed on it.

Are the meals frozen?

No. Mealthy meals are delivered fresh and chilled to your doorstep. Ready to heat and eat in just 3 minutes.

What if I can't finish my meals in time?

Plans change and if you can't finish your meals in time you can safely put them in the freezer for up to 2 months. Each meal that can be frozen is marked with a freezable icon on the label.

Re-heating from frozen will take about 6 minutes in the microwave.

How do you take your food pictures?

Recently, many of you have asked about the new images of our meals. We're excited to share that we have transitioned to using AI-generated images instead of the traditional food photography we used to do.

Using AI allows us to test a broader variety of meal presentations and is significantly more sustainable, reducing the food waste typically required for food styling and photography.

We are excited to keep exploring to possibilities of AI to improve our meals and service.

Getting your meals

Delivery

What are my delivery options?

Hong Kong Island and Kowloon

Morning Delivery (Contactless)

We will deliver the meals once a week in the early morning direct from our kitchen. The meals are packed in thermal bags with ice packs to maintain the temperature.

When you are ready for the day simply open the door, pop the meals in the fridge and your are set for the week.

Please note that the drivers will not ring on the doorbell or call unless they need to as the deliveries will be made early in the morning.

New Territories

Kerry Cool Chain Delivery

Your meals will be delivered by a third party SF/Havi cold chain service.

A: 10:00 - 16:00

B: 16:00 - 21:00

Please note that the timeslots are not guaranteed as the individual drivers daily routes and load are changing.

Delivery by Kerry Cool available on Saturday, Sunday, Monday

Outlying Islands

Self-pick up shops and lockers

Choose from 3 self pick-up lockers or 83 SF Express shops equipped with chilled storage.

Please get in touch with us after placing your order with your preferred pick-up shop location.

When will I get my weekly meals?

The meals will be delivered to your doorstep once a week. You can confirm the delivery date from your account when picking meals.

If you have a door-code it is a MUST to let us know the code in the order remarks for the driver to get in.

Please also leave any additional notes that may help the driver locate your door/home/gate if it may be difficult to find.

Can I request a delivery time?

Unfortunately we are unable to accomodate a set delivery time.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver all across Hong Kong island, Kowloon and most of New Territories (including Tung Chung and Discovery Bay).

If you live in remote areas or outlying Islands such as Lamma you can choose the temperature controlled pick-up lockers at Central Ferry Pier.

Do you have any pick-up locations?

We are able to offer pick-up from select chilled SF Express chilled locations.

Please enter your selected shop pick-up location in your delivery notes.

How do I inform you of door-codes?

Please leave door codes or other delivery intructions in the order notes. Since our drivers will arrive in the early morning it is important to provide access codes as security may not be awake at this time.

Managing my subscription

How do I choose my weekly meals?

We will automactically pick meals for you each week based on your goals and preferences.

You can also pick your weekly meals from your customer account every week before the Wednesday 6pm cut-off time.

Can I pause or skip a week?

Yes you can pause or skip a week from your account page.

If you pause or skip before the order cutoff you will not receive next weeks meals.

If you pause or skip after the order cut off you will receive the next delivery and the subscription will then pause or skip after that.

Change meal plan size

You can login to your Mealthy Customer Portal to change the amount of meals for your plan 4,6,8,10,12 or 18 meals.

Need more meals? Or fewer meals? You can change the amount of meals in your plan from your manage subscription page.

Go to your customer portal -> see more details -> edit -> change variant

Can I change my delivery address?

Yes, you can change your address from the customer account settings, please inform us if you have changed address after the order cut-off time to ensure delivery to the right address.

When will I be billed?

Your first order will be billed after making the order. For upcoming weeks after that your card will be billed each week after the order-cut off on Wednesday nights.

Can I change my payment details?

Yes, you can change payment details from your customer account.

How can I delete my account?

You can delete your account from your account page settings.
